Material intake

CO2 Material Compatibility

Compare selected entries in Epilog’s CO2 engraving and cutting table. Compatibility is a process-category statement; it does not approve a material formulation, establish safe emissions, or supply machine settings.

Content reviewed 2026-11-02. Verify the applicability of each source before using a value in a quote.

Input to record

Exact material and coating identity, supplier/SDS revision, intended engraving or cutting operation, machine/manual, extraction procedure and shop reviewer.

Output to carry forward

A scoped compatibility comparison and a recorded intake decision. Missing identity or applicable machine/safety documentation keeps the job on hold.

Safety review

The table reports the manufacturer’s listed process categories. It is not a safe-material list. A generic label such as wood or acrylic does not identify additives, adhesives, coatings or a supplier batch. The shop intake rule for this worksheet is to hold unknown materials until the responsible reviewer has the exact supplier information, applicable machine instructions and facility extraction/fire procedure. A test coupon does not establish emission safety.

“Not listed” means the source cell is blank. It does not prove a process is physically impossible. Bare-metal marking with a solution is distinct from engraving through metal or cutting it. No entries from Epilog’s separate FiberMark table have been treated as CO2 compatibility here.

Material intake record

Enter your own records. These fields stay in this page until you copy or download them; refreshing clears the draft. Status is a manual shop decision and does not certify a setting.

Missing material or safety evidence means hold; a compatibility listing is insufficient.

Review the record below before export.

Sources and scope

Content reviewed 2026-11-02. A documentation reference supports the stated method or data only; it does not approve settings on another machine.

  • Epilog Laser: Material Compatibility

Selected entries transcribed from the CO2 Engrave/Cut table, not the separate FiberMark table. A blank cell is reported as not listed, not a scientific impossibility. No thickness, feed, power, safety certification, or installed-machine approval is supplied.

Reference workflow

  1. Match the job, material, machine head, and quality requirement to a row.
  2. Confirm the source, review date, and confidence before copying the value into a quote worksheet.
  3. Use a measured result or current OEM record when the row is marked as required or unverified.
