Drawing-based quality record

Part Inspection and Release Checklist

Record actual scalar measurements against user-supplied drawing limits, preserve instrument and sample evidence, and export a reviewer-owned Pass, Hold, or Rework record. No tolerance or sampling plan is preselected.

Content reviewed 2026-11-02. Verify the applicability of each source before using a value in a quote.

Input to record

Job/drawing revision, full required scope and sample plan, numeric acceptance limits, actual measurements, instrument/evidence references, visual requirements and results, reviewer, and disposition.

Output to carry forward

Entered-limit comparisons and a CSV inspection record with effective disposition. Missing checks or release prerequisites keep a requested Pass on Hold.

Inspection and release record

Record scalar dimensional checks against explicit lower and upper acceptance limits in the same unit. The comparison is inclusive. The reviewer must apply the drawing, agreed decision rule, measurement uncertainty, calibration, and sampling plan. This worksheet does not evaluate GD&T, form, fit, strength, or unrecorded features.

Measured feature

No tolerance or sampling plan is preselected. Enter requirements from the approved drawing and shop inspection plan.

Record disposition: Hold

Local draft only; refresh clears inputs. Export preserves hold and incomplete fields. A record marked Pass is a manual shop disposition, not certification by LaserCalc Pro.

Sources and scope

Content reviewed 2026-11-02. A documentation reference supports the stated method or data only; it does not approve settings on another machine.

  • LaserCalc Pro calculation methodology

Repository methodology: use shop CAM, remnant, scrap, invoice, machine, and completed-job evidence. This is an authored calculation/recording method, not an external inspection standard or parameter benchmark.

Requirement ownershipCopy drawing revision, feature ID, units, required checks, sampling plan, and the agreed acceptance rule before entering measurements.Resolve missing or conflicting requirements with the quality owner/customer; do not select a default tolerance.LaserCalc Pro authored inspection record method; user drawing/plan requiredThe identified drawing and approved inspection plan only.No tolerance or sampling authority supplied.2026-11-02
Scalar comparisonWithin entered limits means lower ≤ measured ≤ upper. An entered lower limit above the upper limit is invalid.Use the same units. Record instrument ID, calibration reference, piece ID, evidence, and a decision rule that accounts for measurement uncertainty.LaserCalc Pro authored bounded numeric comparisonScalar values only; not GD&T, fit, form, strength, or uncertainty analysis.Deterministic comparison; measurement validity remains a review task.2026-11-02
Visual / finish recordRecord required and observed edge condition, finish, marking, and packaging, then choose a manual visual disposition.Use the stated drawing/customer criteria for burr, dross, discoloration, damage, or appearance; no severity limit is provided.LaserCalc Pro authored recording workflow; drawing/customer criteria requiredNamed acceptance criteria and recorded observations.Manual review, no automated image judgement.2026-11-02
Release gatePass requires complete record fields, recorded dimensional checks within limits, visual Pass, confirmed required scope, and a named reviewer.Otherwise retain Hold or Rework. Export preserves the selected and effective disposition; revise/reinspect after any rework.LaserCalc Pro authored worksheet controlRecord completeness is not product certification; shop release authority remains responsible.Manual release supported by recorded checks.2026-11-02
Comparison exampleIf the user-supplied bounds were 19.90 to 20.10 mm, a recorded 20.04 mm lies within them; 20.11 mm does not. These hypothetical limits explain the comparison only. Obtain the actual acceptance limits and decision rule from the drawing/plan.LaserCalc Pro authored worked comparisonNo recommended tolerance, sampling size, capability, or measurement accuracy.Arithmetic example only.2026-11-02

Reference workflow

  1. Match the job, material, machine head, and quality requirement to a row.
  2. Confirm the source, review date, and confidence before copying the value into a quote worksheet.
  3. Use a measured result or current OEM record when the row is marked as required or unverified.
