Tube geometry and fixture review
Tube Rotation Envelope Review
Describe the ideal outer envelope of a round or rectangular profile under centered rigid rotation, then compare it with user-recorded machine-space dimensions. The calculation is geometry only and gives no fit, collision, operating, or safety verdict.
Content reviewed 2026-11-02. Verify the applicability of each source before using a value in a quote.
Input to record
Measured profile dimensions and optional recorded machine-space spans, plus exact machine/fixture/CAM review context.
Output to carry forward
Ideal swept diameter and signed dimension differences only. Current machine/fixture documents and external CAM review remain necessary for any operating decision.
Centered rotation geometry
Calculate the outer cross-section circle for a rigid round or ideal rectangular tube rotating about its centered longitudinal axis. Optional span subtraction is numerical only. This tool produces no fit, collision, operating-clearance, or safety verdict. Inputs stay local and clear on reload.
Enter positive finite measured outer dimensions. Optional recorded spans must also be positive finite dimensions.
Chuck/jaws, cutting head, supports, offset axes, deflection, bowed stock, protrusions, and loading are excluded. No rotation speed, torque, grip length, or machine setting is supplied. Use the exact machine/fixture documents and external CAM review for those decisions.
Model boundary
For a round section, the ideal full-rotation envelope equals its measured outside diameter. For a centered rectangle, it equals the diagonal sqrt(w² + h²). This describes the circle through the ideal section corners. It does not model corner radii, weld seams, ovality, bowed stock, jaws, chucks, cutting heads, support templates, axis offsets, loading, deflection, or actual machine motion.
BLM GROUP product information confirms that a configured machine can process several profile families and uses machine-specific supports. That does not establish capability for your tube, fixture, or program. Treat every signed difference here as a dimension to take into the machine/fixture drawing and CAM preview review.
Sources and scope

- BLM GROUP LT7 overview
Lists round, square, rectangular, open, and special profiles for a configured LT7. This is product information, not an operating/fixture manual or a universal profile approval.
- BLM GROUP LT7 technical information
Describes machine-specific supports and handling features. It does not provide the fixture clearances, clamping torque, rotation settings, feature minima, inspection tolerances, or approval procedures needed for your machine.
- LaserCalc Pro authored review method
The rotation equations and drawing-owned review ledgers are deterministic worksheets authored for this site. They preserve user-supplied drawing, CAM, fixture and measured evidence; they are not OEM limits, safety clearance, or manufacturing certification.

Reference workflow
- Match the job, material, machine head, and quality requirement to a row.
- Confirm the source, review date, and confidence before copying the value into a quote worksheet.
- Use a measured result or current OEM record when the row is marked as required or unverified.
