Shop consumable cost record
Consumables Usage and Replacement Log
Record consumed quantities, invoice costs, usage counters, condition, and replacement reasons. Project a reviewed recurring hourly contribution or allocate recorded cost to one job, with one cost destination.
Content reviewed 2026-11-02. Verify the applicability of each source before using a value in a quote.
Input to record
Consumed part quantities and invoice/inventory costs in one currency, machine scope, replacement evidence, observation period, allocation policy, and reviewer.
Output to carry forward
Editable usage records, recorded consumption cost, one selected hourly or direct-job allocation, and a CSV. No replacement price, interval, or lifetime is supplied.
Usage and replacement ledger
Record consumed quantities at your shop’s invoice or inventory cost. Keep all rows in one currency, asset scope, and period. Exclude items already covered by a service agreement or another maintenance/overhead line. No replacement interval, lifetime, or purchase price is supplied.
Add items actually consumed or replaced in the same observation period. Purchases left in stock are not usage.
| Part / scope | Date / usage / condition | Cost source | Quantity × unit cost | Actions |

Choose one allocation bucket
Hourly bucket: sum consumed cost ÷ observed days × planned annual days ÷ annual productive hours. Use calendar days in both day fields, or operating days in both. Projection assumes representative consumption; it is not a wear-life forecast. Direct bucket: all recorded cost belongs to the identified job, with no hourly contribution. Do not apply both destinations to these records.
Add a valid usage record and complete the selected allocation basis to calculate.
Local draft only; refresh clears records. Download before leaving. Currency and coverage are entered records, not verified accounting approval.

- LaserCalc Pro calculation methodology
Repository methodology: use shop CAM, remnant, scrap, invoice, machine, and completed-job evidence. This is an authored calculation/recording method, not an external inspection standard or parameter benchmark.
- LaserCalc Pro maintenance and service cost method
Documents supplier/stock records, service coverage exclusions, period annualization, productive-hour conversion, and placing a cost once. Prices, lifetime, and future usage remain shop supplied.

| Record / method | Rule / arithmetic | Shop action | Source | Applicability | Confidence | Reviewed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Usage record | Extended consumption cost = quantity actually consumed × invoice/inventory unit cost. | Keep part, asset, date, counter reading, condition/reason, and invoice/stock-issue record. Purchased stock remaining on the shelf is not consumed usage. | LaserCalc Pro methodology; maintenance and service cost method | One currency, asset scope, and observation period; accounting treatment is shop supplied. | Source cost and consumed quantity require review. | 2026-11-02 |
| Coverage exclusion | Do not include the same replacement in service-contract coverage, maintenance, overhead, and direct job cost. | Review supplier coverage and the existing hourly-rate consumables field before transfer. | LaserCalc Pro maintenance and service cost method — double-count gate | Review actual agreements, storeroom records, and current model categories. | No coverage assumption supplied. | 2026-11-02 |
| Recurring hourly bucket | Annualized cost = observed consumption cost ÷ observed days × planned annual days. Hourly contribution = annualized cost ÷ annual productive hours. | Use the same day basis in both day inputs. Transfer only the reviewed hourly contribution to Consumables / Hour. | LaserCalc Pro authored period projection; maintenance method productive-hour conversion | Representative usage at comparable future operation; calendar days or operating days must not be mixed. | Projection from entered records; no life forecast. | 2026-11-02 |
| Direct job bucket | Direct job cost = sum of the usage records belonging entirely to the identified job. | Keep this ledger out of the recurring hourly contribution. Shared usage must be allocated outside this one-job ledger first. | LaserCalc Pro maintenance and service cost method — separate buckets | One identified job/batch and the documented allocation policy. | Shop allocation decision; no automatic split. | 2026-11-02 |
| Arithmetic example | Recorded cost 120 over 30 days; planned 300 days; 1,500 productive h: 120 ÷ 30 × 300 = 1,200/year; ÷ 1,500 = 0.80/h. | All values are abstract arithmetic in one currency, not published prices, utilization, life, or replacement recommendations. | LaserCalc Pro authored worked arithmetic | The selected recurring bucket only; not an additional direct job charge. | Equation example, not observed shop data. | 2026-11-02 |
Reference workflow
- Match the job, material, machine head, and quality requirement to a row.
- Confirm the source, review date, and confidence before copying the value into a quote worksheet.
- Use a measured result or current OEM record when the row is marked as required or unverified.
